The many buildings dedicated to Osiris at Karnak allow a diachronic approach to the development of his cult throughout the 1st millennium BC. Recent work by the mission Osirian Sanctuaries at Karnak has focused on the excavation and epigraphic study of the Chapel of Osiris Wennefer, formerly known as the Chapel of Osiris Master of Eternity, built under Amasis and Psametichus III, in order to reconstruct its original decoration and gain a better understanding of its function and history.
