Alle Termine der Veranstaltung 'Im Gedenken: 80 Jahre nach dem Massaker von Nanjing Dezember 1937 - Januar 1938':

On 13th of December 80 years ago, in 1938, during the Sino-Japanese war, began an event that would last some six weeks or so and that has determined Sino-Japanese relations: a series of atrocities committed against the citizens of Nanjing by Japanese soldiers. One German, John Rabe, whose grandson, Thomas Rabe, lives and works in Heidelberg, helped many Chinese leave the city of Nanjing to escape from disaster.
The Institute of Chinese Studies, the Confucius Institute and the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies, together with the City of Heidelberg and the Karlstorkino are organising a series of activities reflecting upon the events that took place in Nanjing some 80 years ago.
