Thursday | 08:00 PM | Indigenous Cultural Identities and Practices in Higher Education Tien-tai Wu, Dong Hwa University Taiwan, Ethnic Relations and Cultures Indigenous Studies within the Academy started from encouraging indigenous students to study themselves by the academic trainings in the College of Indigenous Studies (CIS) in 2001. In order to get the balance between indigenous and multicultural education, both indigenous and non-indigenous graduate students have conducted their thesis about indigenous affairs. There are three core elements about indigenous studies which are culture, language and development. We emphasize the importance of cultural preserving and longevity.
