Dienstag | 18.00 Uhr | Lecture Series: Critical Media Literacy We are #teamwatershed: Developing Critical Literacies to Support the Development of Justice-Oriented Citizenship Suzanne Pratt, Columbia University, Teachers College, Co-Director "Teaching Residents at Teachers College" Programme This talk will focus on a project that involved high school students, as well as pre-service and in-service teachers as they engaged in digital and in-person experiences designed to support the development of critical literacies. For high school students, these experiences were designed to support them as they developed and reflected on their identities as social justice-oriented citizens in their local and global communities. Teachers (both in-service and pre-service) considered the added layer of what it looks like and feels like to develop, enhance and refine their identities as social justice-oriented educators who are thinking deeply and supporting the development of critical literacies in their classrooms.
