In this context, it will discuss the complexities of identifying families of connected ancestry. It will then focus on possible socio-economic issues associated with incest in the light of a late 19th-century court case of family dispute based on a number of documents edited and translated by the Heidelberg Academy project, "Documents on the History of Religion and Law of Pre-modern Nepal".
